"Among more than a million 18-year-old boys who joined the army, better fitness was correlated with higher I.Q.'s, even among identical twins...The fittest of them were also more likely to go on to lucrative careers than the least fit..."
Question: So...if I exercised regularly as a child, I basically could've been Jimmy Nuetron?
Topics related to the brain has been an interest to me for a while now, and reading this article makes me wish I exercised A LOT more as a kid. In elementary/middles, I would like to say I was fairly athletic (in mostly running) until I switched into the HTH Village during middle school. The thought of no P.E. was completely bizarre, but I didn't question it, nor did get really involved in any of the school sports. Of course my lack of muscle to push open heavy doors and attempt push-ups eventually became my excuse to 'get fit' with cirque arts. Now THAT is some extreme exercise (the phrase"CORE STRENGTH!" being shouted at me is now a mantra which haunts me). In the end, this article is all the more reason to get out of the house and get smart while getting fit.
